With a new player entering the game, season 9 of The Football Manager Football Show is bound for Portugal.
Football Manager 2023 is out now (officially) and after eight seasons as a gruesome twosome, we’re bringing Scoreline producer and complete FM newbie Robbie Dowling into the fold to join us in Portugal. He’s been listening since the off, has seen the rows in the office and has his own opinions on how the world of football works so he should fit right in. He’s also responsible for the growing goal tally at Castlewarren Celtic so expect a few barbs along the way.
We’ve drawn lots to decide where we’re off to, using an independent adjudicator in the office to hold the draw, and we’ll see Shane off to Sporting, Robbie taking up with Porto while I’ve drawn Benfica. Sporting are defending champions, Benfica did make it to the final of last year’s PT Cup (and lost) but we’re in a league none of us have ever been part of before, all with European football too.
